EUROCORES - EuroGENESIS
Titel des Programms
Origin of the elements and nuclear history of the Universe (EuroGENESIS)
Teilnehmende Länder
Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Germany, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Slovakia, Slovenia,
Spain, Sweden and Switzerland
Ziel
EuroGENESIS is aimed at unifying hitherto isolated efforts into a new
coordinated action, combining the work of theoreticians, with that of
observers who determine chemical and isotopic abundances using space-borne
and ground-based facilities, and laboratory measurements of meteoritic
grains, of chemists who study how matter is associated in space to form
solids and possibly planets suitable for life, as well as of nuclear physicists,
who provide information on nuclear transmutations based on theoretical
and experimental grounds. Such a coordinated action should lead to a rather
coherent description of the nuclear history of the Universe and possibly
shed some light on our own nuclear roots. The primary focus of the EuroGENESIS
programme is on the origin of the elements and the nuclear history of
the Universe.
Inhalt
Projekte sollten zu einem der folgenden Themenbereiche gehören:
- Nucleosynthesis models (Big Bang nucleosynthesis, Nucleosynthesis during
the hydrostatic evolution of stars, Nucleosynthesis in stellar explosions,
Galactic cosmic ray spallation and other nucleosynthetic processes,
- Modeling for interpretation of observations (Stellar atmospheres, lightcurves,
high energy emission, and spectra from stellar explosions, Condensation
in circumstellar envelopes and in the early Solar System)
- Observational and laboratory constraints (Experimental measurements
of presolar meteoritic grains, High resolution, optical spectroscopy of
stellar photospheres, gaseous remnants, planetary nebulae, and ejected
shells form stellar explosions, Groundbased observations at nonoptical
wavelengths (radio-mm, IR, UV), Space-borne observations with X- and γ-ray
satellite telescopes,
- Galactic chemical evolution and cosmochronology (Galactic chemical
evolution, Cosmochronology with radioactive isotopes)
