Im Rahmen der 4 - 5jährigen Programme werden national finanzierte
Forschungsprojekte und ForscherInnengruppen aus mehreren Ländern
vernetzt. Dabei können sowohl die Bearbeitung einer wissenschaftlichen
Fragestellung als auch der Aufbau von wissenschaftlicher Forschungsinfrastruktur
mit europäischem Mehrwert im Vordergrund stehen. Aktivitäten
innerhalb der ESF Research Networking Programmes können interdisziplinäre
Foren zum Austausch von Wissen und Erfahrungen, die Weiterbildung junger
WissenschafterInnen, Entwicklung neuer Techniken, Workshops, Konferenzen
u. ä. umfassen.
