University Assistant (post doc)

at the Department of Physiological Chemistry

A post-doctoral position is available at the Department of Nutritional and Physiological Chemistry, Faculty of Chemistry. The candidate will pursue the impact of chemically-characterized aroma compounds in mechanisms of inter- and intra-cellular communication involved in cancerogenesis.

 

Duration of employment: 6 years

Extent of Employment: 40 hours/week

Job grading in accordance with collective bargaining agreement: §48 VwGr. B1 lit. b (postdoc) with relevant work experience determining the assignment to a particular salary grade.

 

Job Description:

Your area of responsibility will include 1) studies on mechanisms of inter- and intracellular communication of cancer cells in cell culture and animal models, including application of "state-of-the-art" techniques in molecular cell biology, e.g. q/dd PCR, next generation sequencing, flow cytometry for cellular vesicles, as well as nanoparticle tracking analysis and surface plasmon resonance spectroscopy. 2) Teaching assistance in chemistry, food chemistry and nutritional sciences in German and English and supervision of students.

 

Profile:

Completion of a master's degree in Biotechnology. Doctoral study in Biotechnology with Expertise in Biotechnology and Cancerogenesis.

Extraordinary interest in the research area of cellular communication.
