University Assistant (prae doc)

at the Department of Theoretical Chemistry

The group of Prof Leticia Gonzalez at the Institute of Theoretical Chemistry of the Faculty of Chemistry focuses on quantum chemistry, molecular reaction dynamics, laser control and method development in these areas. The group is seeking for a PhD student (prae doc).

Duration of contract: 4 years.


Duration of employment: 4 years

Extent of Employment: 30 hours/week

Job grading in accordance with collective bargaining agreement: §48 VwGr. B1 Grundstufe (praedoc) with relevant work experience determining the assignment to a particular salary grade.


Job Description:

The successful candidate will work on photocatalys and non-adiabatic dynamics of transition metal complexes. The possibility to write a dissertation is given. Furthermore the candidate is expected to do teaching according to the collective treaty. We expect the successful candidate to sign a doctoral thesis agreement within 12-18 months.



- MSc in Chemistry / focus on Theoretical Chemistry

- Knowledge of the Linux operating system

- Ability to work in teams
