By an agreement of the Austrian Academic Library Consortium KEMÖ and the Austrian Science Fund FWF with the academic publisher Springer, researchers from Austria have now the option of publishing their research open access in more than 1,600 journals without article processing charges. That is the second deal of this kind worldwide and accelerates the transformation to Open Access in academic publishing.
Quality Open Access Market (QOAM) is an assessment tool for researchers to evaluate more than 17.000 open access journals incl. conventional journals with an open access option.
In 2013 the Austrian Science Fund (FWF) has commissioned a survey among the Austrian scientific community.Questions concerning Open Access were also part of the survey.
This year the FWF E-Book Library and the OAPEN Library will grow to a level of around 300 books.
The FWF Open Access Policy will continue to require the use of Creative Commons licenses
