Funding guidelines

Applicability

These funding guidelines apply to all of the FWF‘s autonomous funding programmes:

  • Stand-Alone Projects Programme
  • Programmes for international cooperation (e.g. calls within the framework of bilateral research cooperations, ERA-Net programmes of the EU, Joint Seminars, GROW Programme)
  • Priority research programmes (Special Research Programmes)
  • Awards and prizes (START Programme and Wittgenstein Prize)
  • FWF Doctoral Programmes (DK Programmes)
  • International mobility programmes (Erwin Schrödinger fellowships, Lise Meitner Programme)
  • Programmes for the promotion of women in science (Elise Richter Programme, Hertha Firnberg Programme)
  • Clinical Research (KLIF) Programme
  • Programme for Arts-Based Research
  • Stand-alone publications Programme
  • Science Communication Programme
  • “Top Citizen Science” Programme

Apart from the general guidelines given in the present document, specific guidelines pertaining to individual funding programmes must be respected. These are available on the FWF’s web site (www.fwf.ac.at). They relate in particular to requirements for individual programmes, necessary qualifications, age limits, publication activity and relevant preliminary work.
