University Assistant (prae doc)

at the Department of Analytical Chemistry

to 31.03.2021.

We are looking for a highly motivated Prae Doc with experience in bioanalytical chemistry. The research at the Department focuses on the analysis of proteins, lipids and metabolites. The combination of the analysis of these different classes of biomolecules may support the improved understanding of complex biological processes. The main analytical tools will be liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry.


Duration of employment: 4 years

Extent of Employment: 30 hours/week

Job grading in accordance with collective bargaining agreement: §48 VwGr. B1 Grundstufe (praedoc) with relevant work experience determining the assignment to a particular salary grade.

Job Description:

Accomplishment of research projects in the area of analytical chemistry mainly focused on mass spectrometry-based methods for the analysis of proteins, lipids and metabolites.

Furthermore, the candidate will have to teach courses independently to the extent specified in the Kollektivvertrag.


Diploma or master degree in chemistry, preferably in analytical chemistry, molecular biotechnology or equivalent qualification.

Experience in the area bioanalytical chemistry with focus on liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry as well as in the area of cell culture. Application of software packages for data evaluation. The successful candidate will also be a team player with high verbal and written skills.
