University Assistant (prae doc)

at the Department of Inorganic Chemistry - functional materials

A position for University-Assistant (“PhD”) is available at the Department of Inorganic Chemistry – Functional Materials at the Faculty of Chemistry. An interest is expected for the synthesis and characterization of new mesoporous materials for biomaterials applications.

 

Duration of employment: 4 years

Extent of Employment: 30 hours/week

Job grading in accordance with collective bargaining agreement: §48 VwGr. B1 Grundstufe (praedoc) with relevant work experience determining the assignment to a particular salary grade.

 

Job Description:

Accomplishment of a research project in the area of Materials Chemistry with emphasis on the synthesis and characterization of mesoporous materials, including synthesis of organic-inorganic hybrid compositions and their applications as biomedical materials. We expect the successful candidate to sign a doctoral thesis agreement within 12-18 months. Participation in teaching and independent teaching of courses as defined by the collective agreement.

 

Profile:

Graduation with Diploma or Master certificate (MSc) in chemistry; Experience in Materials chemistry.

Experience with synthesis and characterization of materials (e.g., Silicates, Polymers); Familiar with analytical methods; Teamwork skills; High oral and written communication skills.
