Project Assistant (m/f/x) / PhD Position in the field of oligosilane chemistry
Prof. C. Marschner at the Institute of Inorganic Chemistry at TU Graz is seeking to fill a position as
University Project Assistant (f/m/d)
as soon as possible.
The position is part of the FWF(Austrian Science Fund)-funded project:
"Construction, Transformation, and Derivatization of Heterosilaadamantanes".
This project involves close collaboration with the research groups of Prof. Thomas Müller (University of Oldenburg, Germany) and Prof. Matthias Wagner (University of Frankfurt, Germany).
The position is limited to three years and is intended for doctoral studies.
Your tasks will include:
• Construction, transformation, and derivatization of heterosilaadamantanes
• Mechanistic studies (experimental and theoretical)
• Close collaboration with project partners
• Publication of research results in scientific journals
• Active participation in scientific conferences
• Supervision of students
Employment requirements are:
• University degree (Diploma/Master's) in chemistry or a comparable discipline
• Passion for inorganic molecular chemistry
• Fluent written and spoken English
• Willingness to travel
Ideally, you have:
• A University degree (Diploma/Master's) in chemistry or a comparable discipline
• Experimental expertise in synthetic organoelement chemistry, particularly silicon chemistry
• Knowledge of heteronuclear NMR spectroscopy
• Experience in or willingness to learn quantum mechanical computational methods
• Willingness to supervise students
