Your Responsibilities

The Electron Microscopy Facility (EMF) at ISTA supports a vibrant international scientific community, with state-of-the-art EM infrastructure. The facility is expanding its application range through the establishment of a unique ultrafast nanoscale spectroscopic platform. This position contributes to the development and implementation of the new platform within the EMF, and provides active support to EMF-users working in the fields of time-resolved electron microscopy and cathodoluminescence. The role involves close interaction with selected research groups at ISTA that make intensive use of the platform. In particular, the position requires regular engagement with researchers to align instrument capabilities with scientific objectives, and to contribute to the development of new experimental directions enabled by ultrafast electron microscopy and cathodoluminescence. Join our team to provide service and support, and to fulfill the following responsibilities:

Operate, monitor and maintain the spectroscopic platform, including troubleshooting technical issues, regular system check including systems alignment and calibration to guarantee high-quality performance

Conduct training, assistance, support, and supervision of researchers

Monitoring of compliance with rules to ensure all safety protocols and standard operating procedures are followed

Active contribution to scientific projects, methodology development, shaping measurement workflows, and experimental protocols optimization

Regular interaction with research groups, including participation in technical and scientific discussions related to ongoing projects
