- Medical University of Vienna
The Molecular Oncology Group at the Department for Obstetrics and Gynaecology of the Medical University of Vienna is looking for a self-driven and highly motivated master student with great interest in cancer biology.
The aim of the master thesis will be to evaluate the prognostic and/or predictive role of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) in lung cancer. For this purpose you will use the microfluidic Parsortix technology, a highly innovative new system for capturing and harvesting these rare cells from patients’ blood samples.
During your master thesis you will be responsible for processing the blood samples, establishing the immunofluorescence staining of the processed samples, and perform qPCR analyses. In addition, you will be involved in the collection and correlation of patient-related clinical data.
