5th term (September 2016 onward)
Gregor Weihs, a professor in the Department of Experimental Physics at the University of Innsbruck, has been the FWF’s Vice- President for Natural and Technical Sciences since September 2016. Previously, Weihs worked as a consulting assistant professor at Stanford University and as a research fellow at the University of Tokyo. He is also a fellow in the Quantum Information Science Program of the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIFAR). In 2010, Weihs was awarded a Starting Grant from the European Research Council (ERC).
