The FWF’s 2016 Annual Report wins international ARC Awards in three categories
The Austrian Science Fund (FWF) is very pleased to have been singled out for the highest international recognition in the category “Annual Reports”. The ARC Awards are handed out once a year in New York and represent the world’s largest international competition for recognising excellence in this area. The independent jury rated the FWF’s 2016 Annual Report as among the best in the world in three categories: The FWF won gold in the category “Infographics”, silver in the category “Non-English Annual Report” and “honors” for the category “Illustrations”.
With 2,198 submissions from 34 countries, 2018 was an especially competitive year, according to the organisers. Only those annual reports scoring in the top 30 per cent are selected to receive awards.
The Vienna-based agency HammerAlbrecht headed up the art direction and design of the FWF’s 2016 annual report. The illustrations were provided by internationally renowned artist and graphic designer Francesco Ciccolella, who is also based in Vienna.
