The recently published ERA-Learn Country Report highlights the great efforts made by the FWF to connect Austrian researchers with their colleagues from all over Europe. In the last five years, 55 projects with the involvement of Austrian researchers could be realised as part of ERA-NET programmes.
Well-functioning partnerships between European funding agencies serve to promote the transnational cooperation of excellent researchers. The recently published ERA-Learn Country Report Austria attests to the positive effects of these European partnerships. The key elements of this cooperation are the promotion and proportional funding of joint calls for proposals, which then lead to new multilateral research projects. Since 2014, the Austrian Science Fund FWF has participated in 21 calls for proposals and in this way has been able to help fund 55 teams with Austrian involvement to the tune of €12.7 million in total. All the details of the report are available online in the ERA-Learn Country Report Austria.
