In November the FWF received a visit from a Taiwanese delegation led by Dr. Yu-Han Tsou, the Vice-Minister of the Taiwanese Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST).
The promotion of Taiwanese and Austrian cooperation between MOST and the FWF has a long tradition. The two have engaged in regular activities and joint calls for closely integrated bilateral research projects and seminars since 2009. Over the last ten years, Austrian researchers have been able to carry out a total of 13 bilateral projects as well as 28 joint seminars as part of this cooperation. In this time, a total of €3.2 million in funding have been awarded.
During their working meeting, the Taiwanese Vice-Minister Yu-Han Tsou as well as representatives of MOST and the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office discussed future opportunities for cooperation with FWF President Klement Tockner. The common goal is to expand the possibilities for bilateral cooperation between excellent researchers of both countries in the future.
