Short Description

As part of the ERA-NET TRANSCAN-3 research funding network a call for joint transnational proposals was published on 23 May 2022 under title “Novel translational approaches to tackle the challenges of hard-to-treat cancers from early diagnosis to therapy”.

The aim is to support new transnational cooperation. The individual national (sub-) projects of the consortia are funded by the respective national funding organisations.

Each consortium submitting a proposal must be comprised of a minimum of three research groups eligible for funding by participating organisations. The research groups must be from at least three different countries. The total number of research groups in a consortium is limited to six. One common document must be submitted to the Joint Call Secretariat by one spokesperson, the co-ordinator. For details, please refer to the Call Text available at the TRANSCAN homepage at the time of call publication.

In addition to the application at the call secretariat pre-proposals must also be registered online to the FWF at https://elane.fwf.ac.at via the programme category “IK – International Projects (preproposal)”. Deadline for submission is 18 July 2022.

For submissions to be valid, the cover sheet generated at the end of the online submission process must be printed out and signed. It can then either be sent to the FWF by conventional mail (FWF, Sensengasse 1, 1090 Vienna) or scanned, digitally signed and sent to the FWF (office(at)fwf.ac.at) as an e-mail attachment.

The call is implemented as a 2-step procedure:

Submission deadline (pre-proposals): 18 July 2022 11:00 CET

Submission deadline (full proposals): 15 December 2022 12:00 CET

Decision (full proposals): May 2023
