A joint call for transnational proposals will be published on May 26, 2023 under the title "Crisis – Perspectives from the Humanities."

Each consortium submitting a proposal must consist of a minimum of four and a maximum of six research teams eligible for funding by the participating organizations. The research teams must be from at least four different participating partner countries. One common document must be submitted to the Joint Call Secretariat by the coordinator, the consortium’s spokesperson. The call will open on May 26, 2023, and the deadline for submitting pre-proposals is September 21, 2023, 2:00 pm CET.

In addition to the application submitted to the Call Secretariat, pre-proposals must also be registered online with the FWF at https://elane.fwf.ac.at by September 21, 2023, 2:00 pm CET. Pre-proposals can be registered starting June 1, 2023, under the program category “PIK – International Projects (pre-proposal).” Please refer to the national eligibility requirements published when the call opens for more detailed information on documents to be submitted to the FWF.

Please note that applications are only valid once they have been approved for submission by the research institution on the submission portal in due time before the specified deadline. 

In order to facilitate the process of forming research consortia, the call secretary offers applicants a partner search tool available here: https://www2.ncn.gov.pl/partners/chanse/. This tool can be used by projects looking for partners and partners looking for projects.

This is a two-stage call:

Submission deadline (pre-proposals): September 21, 2023, 2:00 pm CET 
Submission deadline (full proposals): March 26, 2024, 2:00 pm CET 
Decision (full proposals): October/November 2024
