Content

There is a growing demand for cost-effective, environmentally friendly and disposable biosensing platforms to determine quantitatively the presence of biomolecules (e.g. Drugs-of-Abuse) at the point-of-care. To this end, an effective approach is the use of nanocellulose and printed electronics technologies for the fabrication of the electrochemical sensors. For the detection of the biomolecular interaction on the surface (e.g. biomolecule binding to an antibody) a proper surface modification concept (biofunctionalisation) has to be developed.

The topic of this PhD Thesis will be the investigation of the hydrogel-based biofunctionalisation by inkjet printing of the nanocellulose-based sensors.

Description

- Elaboration of suitable hydrogel-based biofunctionalisation schemes for the electrochemical detection of biomolecules

- Formulation and printing of hydrogel-based bioinks for inkjet printing
