- Closing Date
The Institute of Fluid Mechanics and Heat Transfer of TU Wien invites applications for a PhD Studentship starting October 1, 2018 (for 4 years, Employment: 25h/week) associated with the working group of Prof. H. C. Kuhlmann. The research fields are hydrodynamic instabilities, transition to turbulence and multiphase flows. Modern optical measurement techniques, like LDV and PIV, are available as well as an up-to-date computational environment.
Requirements: The successful candidate must hold a Master degree (or equivalent) in engineering or in physics. We are looking for a motivated scientist with excellent experimental skills and interest in fluid mechanics. Experience in flow measurement techniques would be appreciated.
Tasks: The duties comprise the general support of the teaching of the institute as well as scientific work in experimental fluid mechanics focusing on hydrodynamic instabilities and structure formation of suspended particles (attractors for particle motion). The position provides the opportunity for submission of a PhD thesis.
The monthly gross salary will be at least 1.746,60 EUR (14x per year). Depending on previous experience the salary may be higher.
In case of equal qualifications women will be recruited preferentially.
