Health risk of emerging concern: PFAS in the urban water cycle
The presence of persistent and toxic chemicals in the urban water cycle is a potential concern for human health and the status of water bodies. The objectives of this project are to identify relevant groups of perfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in the urban water cycle of Vienna and to analyse potential risk for zebrafish and human health. The candidate must have a Master's degree or equivalent in the field of biology, biochemistry or related subjects.
She/he should have excellent academic qualifications, good communication skills and sufficient self-motivation. Enthusiasm and talent for basic research in cell biology, physiology and toxicology are required.
Previous experience in cell culture and biochemistry methods as well as the isotope laboratory is desired.
