Postdoc position to work on novel technologies for studying electrical activity of 2 and 3 D cultures of stem cell derived cardiac and neuronal cells
ChanPharm GmbH offers a Postdoc position for the development of a new chip technology (cells- and organ-on-a-chip)
ChanPharm is a drug discovery and contract research company. We develop novel technologies for drug screening making use of nano-structured cell surfaces and novel technologies for recording electrical activity. State of the art techniques use potentially toxic fluorescent dyes and are often not suitable for cardiac organoids and/or three dimensional neuronal structures (mini brains).
Therefore, ChanPharm designs - jointly with a consortium of world-class European research institutions – a new generation of chip technology. This highly interdisciplinary research project will enable the candidate to work with nano-structured culture substrates and a completely novel technology based on a label-free detection of electrical activity from stem cell derived excitable cells.
The project benefits from collaborations within the VBC and is particularly suited for a candidate with a strong background in biophysics (electrophysiology) and cell biology.
The position is an EU-funded three-year postdoctoral fellowship (Postdoc) in frame of the Future and Emerging Technologies (FET) program (salary corresponds to FWF Postdoc).
