Postdoc Position
for Chemometrician / Biostatistican
as part of the transdisciplinary SNF-Sinergia research project: MicRisk2030 - A novel path for microbial risk assessment and management towards sustainable food systems: employing AI-based risk management concepts from Stochastic Finance
Position:
We are looking for an applicant holding a Ph.D. in chemometrics, bioinformatics, biostatistics, or equivalent, with advanced skills in multivariate statistical analyses and modeling, including AI systems, such as neural networks, support vector machines, etc. A background or interest in spectroscopy (FTIR, NIR, Raman), as well as project management and advanced communication and writing skills in English are required.
We offer:
A 4 -year 100% Postdoc position in the research group of Prof. Dr. Monika Ehling-Schulz, Institute of Microbiology, Vetmeduni Vienna.
The MicRisk 230 project provides the successful candidate the opportunity to work in a transdisciplinary team and to join Prof. Dr. Josef Teichmann’s group, ETH AI Centre, ETH Zürich, for an internship to be trained in AI solutions for risk management.
Job profile:
• FTIR spectroscopy, spectral data processing, and applied chemometrics
• Biostatistical analysis of wet-lab experiments (WLE: microbiological, genetic/genomic, bioassays)
• Integration of information on risk indicators from WLE and literature (together with ETH/UZH)
• Project management (planning, tracking & controlling, reporting)
• Preparation of manuscripts/publications
