Technician Protein Service

• Full Time (40 h/w)

• Klosterneuburg (Vienna), Austria

• € 2,289* gross/month

Your responsibilities

The recently started protein service at ISTA offers support in recombinant protein production in bacteria and insect cells, as well as for protein purification and biophysical characterization of proteins. To support the implementation of the new service we are looking for a highly motivated individual with a strong background in protein biochemistry. You will be involved in all aspects of the new service and will help to grow and shape it according to the needs of the scientists at ISTA. Be part of this exciting challenge!

• Protein expression in insect and bacterial cells

• Purification of proteins (small scale and large scale) using Aekta Pure and Aekta Micro systems

• Help with biophysical characterization of proteins (for example DLS/DSF, Atomic absorption, MALS)

• Operate and maintain facility equipment

• Provide training and technical support to customers

• Reliably document all procedures along QC standards

• Management and ordering of consumables supply

Your profile

• University degree (B.Sc or M.Sc.) or equivalent training in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology or a closely related field

• Thorough understanding of the theoretical and technical principles of protein expression and purification

• Practical experience in protein purification using Aekta Pure chromatography systems

• Practical experience with biophysical characterization of proteins (e.g., SEC-MALS, DLS, DSF, ITC)

• Excellent communications skills in English (written & spoken)

• Service-oriented working style with excellent organizational skills and high quality standards

• Excellent team player with a friendly, collaborative, can-do mindset
