The research institute is dedicated to providing analyses to better address future challenges related to value networks, strategic interdependencies, and ensuring production and supply security. We provide an interdisciplinary and creative environment for open-minded visionaries who want to solve questions regarding the design of more sustainable and resilient supply networks.

We are looking for an excellent young scientist with a PhD degree (or equivalent) with a quantitative focus (e.g., data science, computer science, operations research). The candidate must have a strong background in automated data collection and web-mining as well as experience in data analysis, simulation and modelling.

The ideal candidate has excellent programming skills and the ability to independently carry out data-intensive research, as evidenced by a track record of scientific publications. Knowledge of network science, supply chain management, economics or AI and ML is a plus. Proficiency in English (written and spoken) is a prerequisite.

We search for critical thinkers that are open-minded, have a collaborative spirit and feel comfortable within an interdisciplinary environment cutting across network science, supply chain management, economics, and complex systems. We encourage you to apply if you are eager to understand supply and production networks on a regional and international level, get your hands on real data and collaborate with industry and policy stakeholders.

A fully funded 3-year PostDoc position in an exciting research environment at the Supply Chain Intelligence Institute Austria, close collaboration with colleagues from the Complexity Science Hub (CSH) Vienna, the Austrian Economic Research Institute (WIFO) and the Logistikum at the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria, next to access to a network of world-renowned researchers and a great community of talented, young and motivated PhD and Postdoc researchers. The position is available from June 2023.
