Funding can only be requested for the salary of an independent researcher in cases where that researcher cannot conclude a contract of employment with a research institution. In such cases, applicants are advised to contact the FWF Office for further information in order to ensure that the application is submitted properly.

i Including employer’s contributions and a prorated termination fee of €65.00 for contracts of employment and marginal employment contracts.

ii Can be requested only by applicants to the Lise Meitner Programme / Elise Richter Programme and independent applicants with at least two years of postdoctoral research experience. In all cases, the applicant’s research institution must be subject to the Austrian Universities Act (UG) 2002 or must have concluded an agreement with the FWF in this regard.

iii The personnel costs that can be requested for doctoral candidates are limited to a maximum of 30 hours/week. The basis for calculating personnel costs for fewer working hours is €48,880.00 per year (=100%).
