WasserCluster Lunz (WCL) offers a stimulating international scientific working environment. Several laboratories, including a molecular biology, a microbiology, and a radionuclide lab amongst others, are equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure, such as GC-IRMS, flow cytometry, TOC analyser, Confocal Laser Scanning Microscope, Laser Diffraction Particle Size

Distribution Analyzer, etc. Various out-door and in-door experimental facilities and long-term monitoring stations in the groundwater, lake and stream ecosystems allow for innovative ecosystem research across scales.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and extend a research topic complementary to the existing research at WCL

• Lead a working group and take over responsibilities for the laboratories and the lake monitoring station, including the analyses and publication of the long-term lake data

• Engage in public relation activities of WCL

Required skills and qualifications:

• PhD in aquatic ecology or related fields

• Distinguished record of research with publications in peer-reviewed international journals

• Experience in lake and/or lake catchment research

• Ability to secure external funding

• Experience in leading a research team

• Skills in communication and team work in an international team

• International scientific network with ongoing collaborations

• Experience in presenting at international conferences and workshops

• Commitment to the mentoring of students and fellows

• Excellent command of English (written and spoken)

• Beneficial: speak and understand German
