The Oncometabolism Laboratory, led by Saverio Tardito at the Center for Cancer Research, Medical University of Vienna, is seeking to appoint a Medical-Technical Specialist (MTA) to serve as Lab Manager. Our lab focuses on the role of metabolism in cancer initiation, progression, and response to therapy (Ackermann et al., EMBO Mol Med. 2024; 16(11):2749-2774, Villar et al., Nat Chem Biol. 2023; 19(3):292-300, Vande Voorde et al., Science Adv. 2019; 5(1):eaau7314).

As part of our growing team, you will work with advanced cancer models, including physiological cell culture conditions, orthotopic xenografts, and transgenic mouse models. You will actively participate in collaborative research projects, contributing both experimentally and intellectually to their development. The role involves hands-on in vivo and cell-based research, alongside lab-management responsibilities.

Your Profile

• You will have a relevant Master degree or PhD, with a record of significant research experience

• Experience in cellular and molecular biology techniques

• Experience with murine models of cancer (transgenic and xenografts)

• Experience in metabolism and metabolomics

• Excellent communication skills in English and, preferably, in German

• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills

• Previous exposure to a dynamic and international work environment
