PhD position (CEDRIC): Dissertation on the topic “Creating a sustainable transboundary agroecosystem through root microbiome biodiversity”

Main tasks: Dissertation on the topic of ​​“Creating a sustainable transboundary agroecosystem through root microbiome biodiversity”; Independent research and teaching in the field of environmental microbiology and/or bioinformatics; dissemination; Initial and continuing education; Administrative tasks.

Required qualifications: Completed master's degree in microbiology, genomic research or a related field; Experience in amplicon-based and/or metagenomic analysis of environmental samples; Experience in creating microbial profiles of root microbiomes using 16S rRNA gene or ITS region sequences is an advantage.

Also desired are: willingness to learn new skills, high resilience, flexibility and self-motivation, creative problem-solving ability, teamwork and communication skills, high level of independence and willingness to undertake research stays with cooperation partners at home and abroad, very good English skills, German skills (if not a native language) or the willingness to acquire them.
