PhD position: Evolution and regulation of skin pigmentation
The position of a pre-doctoral researcher is available in the project “Autonomous pigmentation of epithelial cells” at the Department of Dermatology, Medical University of Vienna, Austria. The project is supported by the Austrian Science Fund, FWF (Project PAT8918924).
The aim of the project is to determine the evolutionary genetics and the molecular regulation of skin pigmentation in vertebrates with a focus on amphibians. State-of-the-art methods in biochemistry, cell biology, gene expression analysis and comparative genomics will be used. The project involves the cooperation with excellent international research partners.
We invite applications from highly motivated students with a thorough understanding of molecular biology.
Requirements:
MSc in molecular biology, biochemistry or related field
Enthusiasm for science
