PhD Position in Single-Molecule Microfluidics
The Molecular Biophysics Group, led by Prof. Georg Krainer at the Institute of Molecular Biosciences (IMB), is seeking a highly motivated and talented PhD candidate to join our interdisciplinary research group at the University of Graz, Austria.
About the Position:
This role focuses on advancing single-molecule microfluidic approaches for protein biophysics, bioanalysis, and biosensing. Key tasks include:
• Development and optimization of single-molecule assays integrating
single-molecule fluorescence detection and microfluidics
• Implementation of data acquisition and analysis software (programming)
• Methodological innovation and biological applications
Who Should Apply:
Candidates must have (or be close to completing) a Master’s degree in (Bio)physics, (Bio)chemistry, Bioengineering, or a related field, with expertise in:
• Single-molecule fluorescence methods and assay development (required)
• Data analysis and programming (Python) (required)
• Experience in microfluidics is highly desirable
