Research Engineer (M/F/D) Plant Microbiome Application

Our Center for Health & Bioresources is looking for new Ingenious Partner for our location in Tulln (in immediate vicinity to Vienna). In the Center for Health & Bioresources we aim to solve challenges associated with demographic change, resource scarcity and environmental pollution and to develop innovative solutions, that enable early disease detection and support healthy and active aging.
The key objectives of our unit Bioresources are to explore biological plant and microbial resources to better cope with current challenges of crop production. In the field of plant microbiomes, we address plant-associated microbiota, explore their functions and develop innovative application technologies.
RESEARCH ENGINEER (M/F/D) PLANT MICROBIOME APPLICATIONS
CENTER FOR HEALTH & BIORESOURCES
You will work in an innovative research team to better understand and apply plant microbiomes - By translating fundamental knowledge in innovative solutions, you will contribute to overcome major challenges in crop production.
Together with your research team, you develop applications for microbiome-based plant improvement and apply your know-how to elaborate new solutions for our customers.
With your innovative work you will obtain further understanding on the functioning of plant microbiota and translate knowledge into innovations.
You successfully acquire research projects and represent AIT in international networks and cooperate with international research institutions.
You will work in an innovative research team to better understand and apply plant microbiomes - By translating fundamental knowledge in innovative solutions, you will contribute to overcome major challenges in crop production.
Together with your research team, you develop applications for microbiome-based plant improvement and apply your know-how to elaborate new solutions for our customers.

You build and maintain a network with both industrial and academic partners.
You leverage your knowledge and expertise to advance the multidisciplinary research team of technicians, scientists, and research engineers.
Your results will enhance your expertise and international recognition within the area while continuously expanding your unit’s internationally visible reputation.
What to expect:
The minimum gross annual salary on a full-time basis (38,5 h / week) according to the collective agreement is EUR 57.890,--. The actual salary will be determined individually, based on your qualifications and experience.
