The FWF funded project iStOMPS (https://www.istomps.org) is conducted by a team of the University of Vienna and two experimental groups from the TU Wien, working independently but in a close collaboration with each other and with international partners (University of Salamanca (Spain)).

Your personal sphere of play:

Your future position is at the Institute of Theoretical Chemistry at the Faculty of Chemistry. You will be working in the field of theoretical/computational chemistry and computational electromagnetism. The position is financed by the cross-disciplinary Young Independent Research Group "Isolated Strong Optical Magnetic Pulse Spectroscopy" (iStOMPS), funded by the Austrian Science Fund (FWF).

Your future tasks:

You actively participate in the research activities of the project which include:

• Development of a general computational protocol for the accurate simulation of magnetic dipole-allowed absorption spectra using different electronic structure methods

• Investigation of the magnetic dipole-allowed absorption spectra of various compound classes

• Investigation of vibrational effects on magnetic dipole-allowed absorption spectra

This is part of your personality:

• Completed doctoral/PhD studies in Theoretical Chemistry (or related subject)

• Outstanding dissertation

• Hands-on experience with scientific computing and programming skills (Fortran/Python/Scripting languages)

• Excellent research competence in theoretical chemistry (proven through international publications in peer-relevant media)

• Understanding of excited states, photophysics, and computational spectroscopy

• Excellent communication skills in English

• Team player and high social skills
