Your personal sphere of play:

Your future position is at the Department of Analytical Chemistry in the work group Bioanalysis headed by Prof. Christopher Gerner, characterized by excellent postgenomic analysis of complex systems, as well as applied research in the areas of non-invasive sampling techniques for individualize metabolic profiling.

The Departement is part of the faculty of chemistry of the University of Vienna with an established reputation for inter-disciplinary research in biomedicine jects.

 

Your future tasks:

Active participation in research, teaching & administration, which means:

• You build up an independent research profile in the field of bionformatical analysis of multi-omics data.

• You will support our server administration including further IT infrastructure.

• You are involved in research projects and scientific studies in the area of multi-omics analysis of complex systems.

• You publish internationally and give lectures.

• You hold courses independently within the scope of the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement.

• You supervise your students, including Master-students accomplishing their thesis, especially the field of bioinformatical analysis of multi-omics data.

• You participate in evaluation measures and in quality assurance.

• You take on administrative tasks in research, teaching and administration.

 

This is part of your personality:

• Completed doctoral/PhD studies in subject chemistry or biotechnology

• Outstanding dissertation

• Experience with experimental lab work typical for molecular biology or proteomics labs

• Experience with transcriptomics, proteomics, lipidomics and metabolomics analysis techniques

• Experience and programming skills with Python and R

• Experience and adminstrative skills with Linux

• Research compentence and initiative proven through international publications in peer-relevant media

• Experience in research mangement and in leading project staff

• Didactic skills/experience in e-learning

• Excellent knowledge of English (level C1), team player and high social/communicative skills
