Your Responsibilities

The Katsaros Group studies spinqubits in two-dimensional Ge heterostructures and, in parallel, studies hybrid semiconductor-superconductor systems. Currently, we are looking for a research technician in order to support our group with developing novel nanodevices and support the PI in coordinating the work of the group.

Participate in research and development by fabricating spin qubit, Josephson junction and superconductor-semiconductor devices in a state-of-the-art Nanofabrication Facility

Be the interface between the group and internal Service Units, in particular the Nanofabrication Facility and the Machine Shop

Take part in the weekly group meetings

Support the PI in running the laboratory by finding solutions to technical problems, related for example to vacuum technology and cryogenics, and improve the documentation within the laboratory

Your Profile

PhD in material science, physics and/or nanofabrication

Proven experience with nanofabrication (electron-beam lithography, electron beam evaporation, dry etching, atomic layer deposition, scanning electron microscopy, atomic force microscopy)

Basic knowledge of vacuum technology and cryogenics of advantage

Interest in participating in the everyday life of a low-temperature physics lab

Excellent command of English (working language)

Proactive personality with attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills

Positive mindset, resilience in the face of setbacks

Team player with the ability to work independently, learn quickly and multi-task
