Master's Thesis Projects in Paleogenomics
The Pinhasi Lab (https://www.pinhasilab.at/) is looking for a highly motivated master's student excited about learning novel state-of-the-art paleogenomics wetlab and/or computational methods and interested in applying these (as a master's project) to one of the following research areas:
1. Isolation and study of ancient parasitic eggs from archaeological sediments
2. The metagenomic analysis of human and dog ancient) coprolites (in collaboration with the Alex Kostic Lab, Harvard).
3. The study of the genomics of ancient insects from archaeological sites
4. The study of the genomics of ancient dog breeds
5. Archeoprimates- the reconstruction and analysis of ancient primate genomes (macaques, baboons, vervet monkeys, etc)
6. The study of past human health and human-nonhuman interactions from anthropogenic sediments (archaeological refuse pits, house floors, etc.)
