Microscopy & Cytometry Technician

• € 2,850* gross/month (basis full-time 40 hours/week)
Your Responsibilities
The Imaging & Optics Facility (IOF) provides 'state of the art' Microscopy Application and Flow Cytometry services, as well as assistance in image analysis and custom optical development solutions. We aim to strengthen our international team with a highly motivated and reliable team player.
• Support in general core facility service and infrastructure tasks, including: ordering, inventory, routine facility checks and control of facility (loan) equipment, organization of calibration standards and optical maintenance tools
• Provide basic training & operating assistance for microscopy and/or cytometry equipment and services
• Performing routine maintenance, quality monitoring and system performance checks
• Functioning as building representative for the IOF to coordinate communication and activities with other units & divisions
• Contribute to event-organization, such as: system demonstrations, annual microscopy-course, technical work-shops, user trainings and outreach events
• Provide support in the areas of basic image/data analysis (on user-demand) and laser safety, if required
Your Profile
• BA or MSc in Life Science/(bio-)physics or equivalent
• Relevant work experience, ideally in a core facility and/or academic environment
• Service oriented work style
• Ability to work independently and as part of the team
• Structured, precise and reliable working style and high degree of organizational skills
• Excellent communication skills in English
