Project
The main research interest of the team is centred around the role of the JAK-STAT signalling pathway in health and during inflammatory and infectious diseases. The current focus is on the role of the JAK-STAT signalling in orchestrating the crosstalk between immune and non-immune cells in homeostasis and during infectious diseases and the transcriptional control and chromatin remodelling activities of STAT proteins. Furthermore, the PostDoc position includes (co-)supervision of internships, Master, Bachelor and/or PhD students and the participation in administrative tasks in the context of teaching and research.
Responsibilities and tasks
• Performing independent research projects and participation in ongoing projects of the research group
• Preparation of research publications
• (Co-) supervision of internship, Bachelor, Master, and PhD students
• Independent preparation and delivery of courses (teaching)
• Participation in administrative tasks in the context of teaching and research
Necessary education, qualifications and knowledge on taking up employment
• Completed Doctorate/PhD in (Veterinary-) Medicine or Natural/Life Sciences
• Several years of experience in basic biomedical research
• Adequate publication performance for the career stage
• Good knowledge of English (Level B2)
Desirable qualifications and skills
• Experience with handling gene-modified mice and in vivo disease models
• Solid experience with flow cytometry
• Practical experience with in vivo infection and inflammation models under BSL2 conditions
• Ability to work in a team, commitment and high motivation
• Experience in coordinated work within research networks
• Average knowledge of German (Level B1)
Working hours: 40
Duration of the contract: limited to 4 years
