2 PhD positions: in the area of biocatalytic sustainable production – green chemistry

That’s the project:

The focus of the research projects is on the synthetic application of enzymes towards more sustainable and atom-efficient processes for the production of industrially relevant targets.

Position 1: The research project will involve the design and optimization of cascade reactions to streamline the synthesis of valuable key intermediates for the production of APIs. The candidate will evaluate novel oxidative reaction pathways and tune reaction conditions to achieve high efficiency and selectivity.

Position 2: The project aims to identify and engineer novel enzymes candidates for the efficient and sustainable synthesis of industrially relevant targets. The candidate will employ in silico and molecular biology techniques to access suitable biocatalysts as well as their subsequent implementation and optimization in biocatalytic processes for the production of the desired targets.
