Your Responsibilities

The Klajn group is an international team of chemists involved in top-notch research in supramolecular and colloidal chemistry. We are committed to pushing the frontiers of knowledge and making notable contributions to chemistry. Our main tools/techniques are organic synthesis, colloidal synthesis, NMR spectroscopy, and electron microscopy. Previous experience in these fields/methods is advantageous but not essential. More senior, PhD-holding applicants are also encouraged to apply. The position and compensation will be tailored to the experience and interests of the candidate, but will be centered around maintaining and assuring the overall efficient running of the laboratory. We are looking for a proactive team member to support us with the following tasks:

Taking a lead position in the lab organization (training students, ordering consumables, managing stocks, keeping our databases up to date)

Implementation of new equipment and assistance in experimental setups

Mediating interactions with our Scientific Service Units (e.g., Lab Support Facility, Electron Microscopy Facility, NMR Facility, Nanofabrication Facility, etc.)

Actively engaging in research projects

Supporting internal and external users with using laboratory infrastructure and reporting results

Being part of an interactive and international group of students, postdocs, and interns with diverse backgrounds

 

Your Profile

Completed studies/PhD in Chemistry, Material Science, or another related relevant field

Proven experience in managing laboratory services in Chemistry (data management, instruments, gases, cryogenics, resource management, storage of chemicals, waste management, etc.)

Strong organizational skills, reliability, and a sense of responsibility

Experience in managing laboratory systems and supplies

Theoretical and practical knowledge of chemical/physical characterization techniques

Hands-on mentality to design and implement new add-ons needed for experimental setups
