Our Center for Digital Safety & Security is looking for new Ingenious Partner for our location in Vienna. In the Center for Digital Safety & Security we develop state-of-the-art information and communication technologies to ensure that our systems are highly secure and reliable in the context of comprehensive digitalisation and global networking – Hereby we focus on a variety of key technologies like Distributed IT Systems, Internet of Things, IoT, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Blockchain Technologies, Quantum & Photonic Technologies, Wireless Systems (6G) and Digital solutions for crisis & disaster management.

 

Our experts from the Competence Unit Cooperative Digital Technologies work on the development of data-based IT solutions for various application scenarios, including the design of new and innovative solutions supporting communities in increasing their resilience and achieving their sustainable development goals (SDG). As a reliable partner of industry and public authorities, we work on digital tools for a sustainable and resilient society based on current research results and in collaboration with end users and our customers.

The focus of our applications is on climate change impact assessment and the protection of society during crises and disasters.

 

JUNIOR RESEARCH ENGINEER (M/F/D) – SOFTWARE DEVELOPER FOR DATA SPACE APPLICATIONS

CENTER FOR DIGITAL SAFETY & SECURITY

 

As part of our interdisciplinary team, you design and develop back-end systems for data exchange and data analysis and thus create added value for our partners.

You will develop data-centric solutions (e.g. within the framework of Gaia-X) in coordination with experts and users.

You support the team in the development of technical components for interoperable, trustworthy data exchange between stakeholders.

You contribute your technical skills to the team and, with time, can take on your own area of responsibility.

With your technical expertise and creativity, you will actively shape future data ecosystems.

You will play a significant role in innovative solutions for a safer society of tomorrow, as part of our customer and research projects.

You will have the opportunity to publish and present your results at scientific conferences.

 

Your qualifications as an Ingenious Partner:

Degree (at least BSc.) in the field of computer science, natural sciences etc., or an equivalent qualification

Working knowledge of at least one high-level programming language (e.g. Python, JavaScript / TypeScript, Java).

Experience with basic software engineer tools (version control with git, containerisation with docker, unit testing) desired

Interest in new technical topics and a good general technical knowledge

Hands-on mentality and affinity for the creation of sustainable technical solutions

High level of commitment and strong teamwork skills

Good knowledge of English, good German skills are a bonus

 

What to expect:

The minimum gross annual salary on a full-time basis (38,5 h / week) according to the collective agreement is EUR 49.280,--. The actual salary will be determined individually, based on your qualifications and experience.
