Laboratory Manager / PostDoc

The Clinical Human Immunology lab at the Karl Landsteiner University focuses on allergic responses and tolerance development. The aim is to find new treatment targets for food allergy and to understand immunological tolerance development.
YOUR TASKS
* Plan, direct, and conduct specialized research experiments to understand cellular responses in the context of type 2 immune responses.
* Plan, direct, and conduct specializedresearch experiments to investigate immunological mechanisms of tolerance development and allergic response in humans via in vivo, ex vivo and in vitro models
* Develop and coordinate novel transcriptomics and flow cytometric experiments in the context of clinical trials with the linked bioinformatic analysis.
* Collaborate with international partners to achieve research goals.
* Prepare manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
* Present research findings at national and international conferences.
* Train and co-supervise under- and postgraduate students and technicians.
YOUR PROFILE
* Ph.D. in Cell Biology, Immunology, or related field
* Experience with in vivo, ex vivo and in vitro human models
* Management experience with clinical and pre-clinical studies and longitudinal cohorts as well as experience with multiple projects
* Strong written and oral communication skills in English
* Strong background and publication record in allergic disease and human immunology
* Ability to work well in a team environment.
* We are looking for someone who is highly motivated, curious, perseverant, organized, and flexible, with the capacity to learn new approaches and analyze multidimensional data.
YOUR PERSPECTIVE
You can expect a challenging job in an internationally visible and highly motivated team. You are supposed to establish and coordinate the newly installed lab and work on a research project aimed at studying allergic responses and tolerance
development. You will get the opportunity to work independently, conceive, initiate, organize and manage projects. The position will commence as soon as possible, and the workplace is at Campus Krems. The initial appointment will be for a one-year term, with the potential for annual renewal. The classification is € 4,352 (40 hrs) gross per month according to the standard personnel costs and salaries for FWF projects.
