Scientist (m/f/d) for 3D Inspection and Measurement
As Austria's largest research and technology organisation for applied research, we are dedicated to make substantial contributions to solving the major challenges of our time, climate change and digitalisation. To achieve our goals, we rely on our specific research, development and technology competencies, which are the basis of our commitment to excellence in all areas. With our open culture of innovation and our motivated, international teams, we are working to position AIT as Austria's leading research institution at the highest international level and to make a positive contribution to the economy and society.
Our Center for Vision, Automation & Control is looking for new Ingenious Partner for our location in Vienna. The center exploits the opportunities provided by automation and digitalisation to initiate and advance innovation for industry, primarily in Austria and Europe. Our main goal is to take away the monotonous, heavy, difficult, and dangerous aspects of people’s work through innovation. We help our partners by making technical systems more robust, reliable, flexible, and easy to use. At the same time, we increase the resource efficiency of industrial processes by reducing waste, product failures, and emissions.
Our High-Performance Vision Systems Team is enthusiastically researching on improving optical inspection and measurement systems towards higher performance (speed, resolution), robustness and flexibility. We cover the whole data processing chain including image capture, computational imaging and classification with classical and AI methods.
- You will develop concepts, specifications and procedures for 3D inspection and measurement systems.
- You will research on innovative computer vision methods and tools using advanced mathematical methods, optimization methods and AI methods and will transfer them to industrial applications.
- You are contributing to the content of our research topics by being involved in various research and industry projects in application areas such as metal industry, foil products for the energy transition (battery, photovoltaic, riplet foils) and security prints.
- You will write proposals and applications for research projects. You will lead and implement them according to the highest scientific standards, which is combined with corresponding publication activities.
- You will work in an interdisciplinary team of scientist and research engineers from mechanical engineering to data science solving industrial research challenges.
- Through your innovative results and your growing network of partners at universities and industry, you will actively contribute to the success of our current research projects as well as to the establishment of new business models and concepts in the field of 3D inspection and measurement.
