Your personal sphere of influence:

As a university assistant prae doc, you will complement the research team around Prof. Gerner´s working group. The focus of the planned research is on the analysis of small molecules that play an important role as modulators of biological signaling processes, such as oxidized fatty acids, endocannobinoids and bile acids. The research project takes place in an interdisciplinary framework and combines analytical method development with biologically relevant questions. Thus, this position requires a high level of commitment and communication.

The contract period upon employment is 4 years. Initially limited to 1.5 years, the employment relationship is automatically extended to 4 years if the employer does not submit a non-extension declaration within the first 12 months.

 

Your future tasks:

You actively participate in research, teaching & administration, which means:

• You will be involved in research projects and scientific studies in the field of analytical chemistry.

• You will work on the further development of the methodology for analysing metabolites and peptides, in particular sample preparation.

• We expect you to finalize your dissertation agreement within 12-18 months.

• You are working on your dissertation and its completion.

• You hold courses independently to the extent of the provisions of the collective agreement.

• You will take on adminstrative tasks in research and teaching.

This is part of your personality:

• Completed master´s/diploma degree in chemistry, preferably in the field of analytical chemistry or equivalent qualification.

• First practice in scientific writing and with research methods such as method skills: bioanalytical chemistry, liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry

• Didactic skills /experience in e-learning

• IT skills: MS Office desired, optional: R, Python

• Knowledge of: Chromatographic techniques coupled with mass spectrometry with subsequent data evaluation is desirable

• Very good knowledge of German and English

• You are a team player with high social/communicative skills
