The successful candidate will coordinate a subgroup and work independently on research projects at the interface of cell death and resistance mechanisms. We offer innovative research combining cutting edge bioanalytical techniques (mass spectrometric metabolomics/lipidomics/multiomics) with advanced biochemical, cell biological and molecular methods aiming at the development of advanced (biogenic) pharmacological strategies against therapy-resistant cancer.

 

Your Responsibilities:

Research on biogenic active substances and their targets as well as coordination of the research focus "Cell death and resistance mechanisms"

Planning, executing, and directing experimental work

Analysing and interpreting data and producing publication-quality figures

Writing manuscripts and contribution in the preparation of third-party funding applications

Collaboration in coordinated programmes

Presentation of research results at internal, national and international events

Independent organisation of pharmacognosy courses and examinations as well as assistance in the supervision of bachelor and master theses

Participation in university self-administration and organisational tasks of the institute

 

Your Profile:

Completed Master's degree in Pharmacy or related subjects (Biochemistry, Molecular Medicine, Chemical Biology etc.); completed PhD in Pharmacy or related subjects

Experience with mammalian cell cultures and standard cell/molecular biology methods, e.g. activity assays, WB, ELISA, IF, FACS, qPCR etc.

Experience in mass spectrometric metabolomics, especially lipid analysis, possibly also multi-omics, is an advantage

Profound knowledge in biomedicine, signal transduction and drug discovery, ideally in connection with natural products

Very good written and spoken English; good knowledge of German is advantageous

Very good IT skills (Office applications; data visualisation, statistics programmes)

Confirmed scientific publications; experience in acquiring third-party funding is an advantage

Didactic skills for independent teaching

Planning and organisational skills, creativity in problem solving, ability to work in a team and leadership qualities combined with high motivation and enthusiasm

 

We Offer:

Annual gross salary of € 66,532.20 for a fulltime position.

Salary Category: B1 with PhD

Temporary Employment: 6 years
