In the factories of the future, but also in everyday life, we will be increasingly supported by new technologies. Exoskeletons also known colloquially as "robot suits" can now be used to relieve physical strain during strenuous activities. They are not only intended to make work easier, but also to ensure that people are subjected to less physical strain in order to reduce, e.g., the risk of musculoskeletal disorders. In a joint project between the Chair of Production Systems at Ruhr-Universität Bochum (RUB) and the Chair of Production Technology at the University of Innsbruck (UIBK), the new "ExoExoert" project is building on this background. Their aim? To develop a method that makes it possible to support the planning of the use of exoskeletons in companies through simulation models. Why is that important? By using simulation models as well as novel evaluation and selection methods, the researchers want to ensure that this technology really helps workers without harming them. It`s about saving time and money in the exoskeleton selection process and ensuring that the exoskeletons provide real benefits in the real world. This research could revolutionize the way we work in factories. Imagine a future where technology not only increases productivity, but also improves the well-being of workers. "ExoExpert" is here to help shape the future of human labor!
