Information Requests under the Freedom of Information Act (IFG)
The Austrian Science Fund (FWF) is subject to the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act (IFG). Any person has the right to request access to information held by the FWF, provided that no statutory exceptions apply.
To ensure that your request can be processed in a timely and legally compliant manner, the following conditions must be met:

The request must contain a sufficiently precise description of the information sought, the relevant subject matter, and the preferred form of disclosure.

Anonymous requests are not permitted. At a minimum, the request must include the applicant’s full name and a valid e-mail address; a telephone number may additionally be provided. Proof of identity must also be supplied.

If the request is submitted in connection with the exercise of freedom of expression (for instance, by journalists or representatives of civil society organizations), this should be specified at the time of submission.
