The CSA (= Coordination and Support Action) TRANSCAN-4 aims to provide scientific findings as well as a sustainable funding model for groundbreaking translational cancer research in Europe and beyond. The first call for proposals, “Translational Research on Cancer Metabolism: Multidisciplinary Approaches for Diagnosis and Treatment," will be open until July 21, 2026 for pre-proposals and then until January 13, 2027 for full proposals.

Target group

The funding program is aimed at researchers working in the field of translational cancer research at universities, non-university research institutions, and research departments in related sectors.

Funding goals

Funding will be available for projects that successfully bridge the gap between fundamental discoveries in the field of cancer metabolism and the diagnostic, prognostic, and therapeutic applications of this knowledge. The funded projects should be original, high-quality research projects with significant clinical impact that create new partnerships between researchers and clinicians.

Funding period and funding amount

The maximum funding period is 36 months.

Requirements

The requirements and specifications for the FWF programs Principal Investigator Projects or Clinical Research apply.
