Philological, historical, and systematic research on the Buddhist epistemological and logical tradition in Indian (ca 5th to 13th centuries A.D.) and Tibetan (ca 9th to 20th centuries A.D.) periods to be conducted in the following team and individual studies: A. Team work: 1. Editions of the Pramanasamuccayatika: chapter 2, diplomatic and critical editions 2. On-line edition of "Steinkellner/Much, Texte der erkenntnistheoretischen Schule des B." 3. On-line catalogue of Sanskrit manuscripts in Tibet 4. KWIC Index of Sanskrit texts edited in the project 5. Compilation of data-bank for a "Bauddhanyayakosa" B. Cooperation with the China Tibetology Research Centre on copies of Sanskrit manuscripts from the Tibet Autonomous Region C. Individual studies: 1. Publication of fragments from the literature of early Indian philosophical systems contained in the Pramanasamuccayatika 2. Reconstruction of Dignaga`s Pramanasamuccaya(vrtti), chapter 2 3. Reconstruction of Dignaga`s Pramanasamuccaya(vrtti), chapter 1 4. Translation and reconstruction of Dignaga`s Pramanasamuccayavrtti, chapter 5 5. Translation of *Hetuprakarana, sections on logic 6. Critical edition of Dharmakirti`s Pramanaviniscaya, chapters 1 and 2 7. Critical edition of Dharmakirti`s Pramanaviniscaya, chapter 3 8. Translation of Dharmakirti`s Pramanaviniscaya, chapter 3 9.
