The University of Vienna’s Faculty of Chemistry hosts the Vienna Doctoral School in Chemistry (DoSChem), Austria’s largest doctoral training program in chemistry and interdisciplinary sciences.
DoSChem brings together over 200 doctoral students from more than 40 countries, working across disciplines with over 50 principal investigators from 17 departments. We are committed to train outstanding scientists. Our program language is English, and our mission is to foster a collaborative and open-minded environment where students engage in interdisciplinary and curiosity-driven research.

According to the university's recruitment policy, all advertised positions are available for 3 years with different options for extension. The contract is subject to approval after 1 year.
Expectations for successful candidates:
The language of the school is English; therefore, excellent written and verbal English communication skills are required, and German is appreciated.
We expect the successful candidate to sign a doctoral thesis agreement within 12 months at the latest after starting the appointment.
Further expectations are:
• Participation in research projects/research studies
• Dissemination of project results in peer-reviewed publications and presentations at international conferences
• Participation in teaching and independent teaching of courses as defined by the collective agreement
• Supervision of students
• Contribute to the organization of meetings, conferences, symposiums
• Involvement in the department administration
• Strong communication, data presentation and visualization skills
• Ability to work both, independently and collaboratively
