Master Thesis:

A Master Thesis Position in “Cancer Research / Organoid Biology” is available at the Center for Pathobiochemistry and Genetics Research (Medical University of Vienna).

Research:

The Mikula Lab is using stem cell derived skin organoids and melanoma patient-derived tumor spheres to investigate the role of YAP1, Notch and AXL signalling in melanoma progression.

Requirements:

- Bachelor in biology, biotechnology, immunology or a related discipline.

- High level of motivation and a strong interest in cancer research / tumor models in-vitro and in 3D.

- Work experience is a plus (e.g., cell culture, WB, PCR, IF).

- Before the Master Thesis starts the first 2-3 months are regarded as a practicum (ECTS can be earned).

We offer:

- An exciting research project in our Labs in the Währingerstrasse 10 with access to state-of-the-art technologies (melanoma and hPSC culture, all wet lab technologies, histology resources, Nikon spinning disc confocal microscope, cytoflex flow cytometer, bioinformatics ...).

- A stipend for the 9-12 months of the Master’s Thesis.
